Trainspotting
Trainspotting-thoughts by Beata
I was sick last lesson so I watch the movie online on a weird page. It was bad picture quality and no subtitles in English but I understood some of what they said in the movie anyway. Scottish is a very special dialect, but I think it´s cool as hell. And I really want to learn to understand it and speak it as well :)
I thought the movie was very good and it would have been nice to see it with better picture quality and subtitle so I can understand everything they say. The film took up the drug culture among young people in a good and humorous way, but still serious, which is good because you see how bad it is for yourself and your surrounding to do drugs. One of the guys in the gang died and also the little baby. Did you see how the child died? I didn't get that. It is not healthy to growing up in such an environment with a drug addict mother and no clue at all which of the guys who is the father, it was perhaps well that the baby died.. No that's terrible! In any case, they really lived a crazy life and I understand why the main character, Obi One Kenobi (in Star wars haha), got tired at the end and wanted to start over.
It´s been a while since I saw the movie so I will not reveal any specific words or phrases that I noticed that could be typical Scottish, but they were a very youthful language and they swearing a lot. It was many funny jokes in the movie so I laugh quite much.
